HOW MUCH TIME IS LEFT ?
By W. G. Guy
This article is not a prophetic word from the Lord, but a computation of time from historical accounts that indicate the nearness of the return of Christ. First some considerations need to be addressed as to the passage of time from God’s perspective.
2 Peter 3:8 – But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Thus we have the establishment of a millennial day which is one thousand years to us, but a single day to God. God placed man, made in His own image and likeness, on earth approximately six thousand nine hundred and ninety some years ago: thus we are now at the end of the sixth millennial day of mankind on earth. (This does not mean that the earth is only six thousand years old as physical evidence disproves that; earth could be many times older than that.)
As we approach the seventh millennial day, or the seventh thousand years since God placed man on earth, we need to recognize that this seventh millennial day is the true Sabbath of the Lord; when He comes to rule and reign on earth with His saints for a thousand years – the seventh millennium.
Luke 6:5 – And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Now we need to consider time from a historical view starting from when Jesus was born. Since history does not record the year of His birth it does record the year that King Harod died: as rulers nearly always have a historical record of their deeds, rules and instances in their lives. Most historical records show Herod died in 4 BC. This means that Jesus was born prior to 4 BC, probably between 6 BC and sometime close to 4 BC because Herod ordered all male children born in Bethlehem age two and under to be killed as word of the King of the Jews being born was a threat to him.
Now consider that Jesus did not begin His earthly ministry until He reached the age of thirty; since thirty was the age required for entering the priesthood. (Jesus is the Great High Priest after the order of Melchisedec – Hebrews 3:1 and Hebrews 5:6). Jesus began His ministry after being baptized in water by John, when the Holy Spirit came upon Him, and He went into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
Luke 3:22-23 – And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,
Thus Jesus’ ministry began in the year 24 AD if He was born in 6 BC; or closer to 26 AD if His birth was nearer to 4 BC. Now consider that His ministry lasted for three and a half years when He was crucified and risen again, which would be between 28 AD
up to 30 AD.
Consider that since Pentecost, which occurred fifty days after Passover, until now in 2026, has been almost two thousand years, or two millennial days, as declared by Peter in his sermon that he preached on the Day of Pentecost.
Acts 2:16-20 – But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:
The term,“in the last days”, clearly refers to the last two millennial days, or two thousand years, since Pentecost because the events of verse 19 and 20 have not yet been fulfilled, and are yet to occur. (This also shows that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is still going on throughout the two thousand years.) Add two thousand years to the Pentecost where Peter preached and we come to the years of 2028 to 2030.
A week ago while praying I asked the Lord, “How much time do we have left”. I did not get an answer at that time, but the next morning, during my prayer and devotion time, I kept hearing in my spirit, “three and a half years”, and this occurred three times. Then I realized that was the answer to my question the night before. Three and half years from now, as we approach Passover 2026, takes us to the year 2030. Could this be the time of thr return of Christ?
Granted the Bible says no one knows the day or the hour of Christ’s return, but we can know the year and the season. The day and hour cannot be given as there are twenty-four time zones, and two days, in the earth at any one time; thus a single time cannot be given as it would not apply to the whole world. So the question I raised, “How much time do we have left?”; the answer is NOT MUCH, so we better get ready! Are you ready for His return?
Jesus told us what to look for as signs of His return.
Luke 21:25-28 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
What signs are we currently seeing that indicate the lateness of the hour? Wars and rumors of wars: ethnic conflicts; persecution of Christians; corruption in government; corruption in education, moral corruption in society; financial collapse; moral corruption; corruption in churches by apostacy and false prophets and preachers bring false doctrines; famines; earthquakes and pestilances.
Matthew 24:4-14 – And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
All these things we now have: but in addition, this gospel is going into all the world; by word of mouth; by TV, radio, satellite; internet; as well as the printed page (distribution of Bibles). It’s now approaching time for the end!
