PERILOUS TIMES ARE HERE
By W. G. Guy
The apostle Paul spoke of the very things we are experiencing today.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
The behavior that Paul described above is that which is found in many churches today. This is specifically identified in verse 5: “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof”; then Paul tells us, “from such turn away”. I have been teaching for many years that this passage is speaking of conditions in the end-time church; because where do you find “a form of godliness” but in churches.
Today I was watching a segment from the Christian Broadcasting Network that dealt with the political views of Evangelical Christians; and I was disgusted. I could not believe how many professing Christians, specifically “Evangelical Christians” who say they endorse liberal and progressive political issues that go totally contrary to Christian morals and the Word of God. These alleged Christians support the Democrat Party and their current presidential candidate who could qualify to be the bride of Satan.
This condition in churches clearly explains what the apostle Paul foresaw as he wrote the above to Timothy. This means that WE ARE IN THE LAST DAYS. True believers need to be prepared for what is coming, and it isn’t going to be pleasant. If the democrats win the coming national election, true Christians will be targeted for intense persecution and even elimination; and we are not getting out of here by the supposed “pre-trib rapture”: we are here until Jesus returns. Yes we will have to face the “antichrist” and his evil form of government.
2 Thessalonians 2:1, 3-4 – Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, ……Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
I am amazed at how many so-called Christians have allowed themselves to be deceived into believing that we are raptured out of here before the “man of sin be revealed”, who is obviously the antichrist assuming his role as god over mankind.
Some will say, “But God has not appointed us to wrath”, and that is correct. But that doesn’t mean that we will not experience the antichrist’s (or Satan’s) wrath which precedes the LORD’s wrath on the wicked.
Revelation 12:12 ….Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
We Christians will be here for the tribulation; but God has promised to protect us as He deals with the wicked in His wrath.
Psalm 91:7-10 – A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward if the wicked. Because thou has tmade the LORD , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come night thy dwelling.
The wicked even acknowledge that it will be the wrath of the Lamb (Jesus) that they will face.
Revelation 6:12-17 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Note: this is only the sixth seal as listed; the seventh seal brings in the final seven judgments on the wicked: the Trumpets and Vials. (The Trumpets are the announcements and the vials are the events.)
CHURCH! WAKE UP! Repent of believing false doctrines; and put on the whole armor of God, because the evil day of the devil’s wrath is coming upon us and we need to fight back with the knowledge of God’s Word, which is our Sword of the Spirit.
Ephesians 6:10-13 – Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Each piece of this spiritual armor is an application of the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:14-18 – Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Too many Christians are not familiar enough with God’s Word to be able to resist these evil forces that will be manifesting themselves through evil people like religious leaders, politicians and rulers.
Remember, Jesus himself said that these last days would be fearful. But you have no need of fear if you are secure in Christ, and stand upon His Word, His promises to you. For example:
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct they paths.
Isaiah 26:3 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
Your faith in Christ and His Word will carry you through so that you can endure unto the end. Because true believers are to be His witnesses to carry the gospel into all the world before it all comes to an end.
Matthew 24:12-17 – And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
