THE SPECIAL BLOOD OF JESUS
by W.G. Guy
As we approach the observance of Passover and the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross it is important to recognize what is special about the blood that Jesus shed for our sins.
1 John 1:7 – ……the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
What Jesus shed on the cross, and even before He was placed on the cross, was the blood of the Son of God. It was God’s blood; unique, special and holy for the very purpose of making atonement for sin. No other person’s blood would or could qualify for this purpose. His was the only blood of its kind, and only it could take away our sins. God gave it for us all as an act of His divine love for mankind.
Jesus’ crucifixion was an act fo divine love for mankind:
John 15:13 – Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus’ blood was part human and part divine; God’s blood; and there is, and was, no other blood like it in the world. It was special! Read the account of archeologist Ron Wyatt* who discovered the hidden Ark of the Covenant several decades ago, and revealed it with photos to the authorities in Jerusalem. They wanted to keep it quiet until they were ready to reveal it to the people because then they would demand the rebuilding of the temple which would start a major war with Islam.
He discovered the Ark in a cave that was beneath the place where Jesus was crucified. When the earthquake hit as Jesus died, the rock were rent and split open, Thus the blood of Jesus seeped down through the crack in the rock and fell on the mercy seat of the Ark: exactly where it is supposed to go.
Ron took a scraping of the dried blood and took it to a special lab in Jerusalem for evaluation. They rehydrated the blood with a saline solution and were shocked to see this blood come alive. They asked Ron where he got this blood and whose was it. He told them this was the blood of their Messiah that He shed on the cross almost two thousand years ago. Yes, Jesus blood is very special as only it can provided atonement for all sin. All that is needed for this atoning work to bring new and eternal life is to accept this blood’s atoning power by acknowledging your sin and repenting.
I John 1:8-9 – If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 1:12 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Have a great and happy RESURRECTON DAY; (Please don’t call it Easter which is a pagan festival celebrating the ancient Saxon/Druid goddess, Eastre, the goddess of sex and fertility; thus eggs and bunny rabbits.)
