TIME IS RUNNING OUT – ARE YOU PREPARED FOR WHAT IS COMING?

When you know, or recognize, that a very significant event is approaching, what do you do? You make preparations! When a hurricane warning issued, you make preparations to endure and survive. When God told Noah that the world would be destroyed by a flood, he was told to make preparation by building a boat.
Matthew 24:37-42 – But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Jesus gave us a warning to make preparation; He even gave us signs to look for that indicate the time of His return.
Matthew 24:3-7 – And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Jesus repeated the warning of the days of Noah, but He added to it about the destruction of Sodom, when the warning was issued only to the righteous and the wicked were destroyed.
Luke 17:26-30 – And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
As in the days of Noah – we are told to make preparation for what is coming. However, we are also told that people would not be paying any attention because they were too busy with their own self-indulgence: “eating, drinking; marrying and giving in marriage”.
The warning referred to by Jesus is that there is a major event that is coming that people are not paying attention too: they do not see the storm clouds building. We are on the cusp of a great world-wide event which requires preparation necessary for survival, yet most people are not paying attention, and some even refuse to accept what is coming. Jesus had this to says to such people:
Luke 12:56 – Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
The great coming event is two-fold. It is referred to as “The Day of The LORD” – (Joel 2:31). It is a day of destruction upon the godless wicked of the earth; also called “A Day of Darkness”. The church calls this the Great Tribulation; but this same time is also the “Day of Redemption”, the time of the return of Christ for His people who truly believe in Him as their redeemer.
Luke 21:25-28 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
All of the signs that Jesus gave us to look for are present now, and have begun several years ago. What is the preparation that we need to make? It is the same preparation that was made at the introduction of Jesus first coming: “REPENT AND PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD”.
Matthew 3:1-3 – In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
John the Baptist was called by Jesus the greatest of the prophets, but this was because of his message, not because John did mighty or miraculous works like Elijah or Elisha did. In fact, John’s ministry was very brief, less than a year, possibly only about six months. However the significance of John’s ministry was in the preparation of Jesus’ arriving on the scene to be revealed as the Redeemer of mankind. Thus the likeness of the spirit of Elijah was upon him.
So it will be that prior to the second coming of Jesus Christ, at the time of our redemption, there will also be the message of prophets preparing His way. They will carry the same message: “REPENT AND PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD”. This preparation appears to last for three and a half years: the same length of time that Jesus ministered to people on earth. Only this last time the message is carried by two witnesses, which verifies the power and authenticy of their testimony.
Revelation 11:3-4 – And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
(Note: according to the Old Testament, Prophets are said to stand in the presence of God, seeking His Word on behalf of the people, as Elijah said in 1 Kings 18:15.)
There is much speculation as to who these two prophets will be, but that is not important, but their message is. The likelihood that there will be many more that will be raised up by the LORD to bare His message. The same Spirit that empowered Elijah, that empowered John the Baptist, will also empower all who will be preparing the way of the LORD in these last days. The likelihood that Elijah will be involved is stated in scripture.
Malachi 4:5-6 – Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
The preaching of repentance and returning to worship and honor God and Christ, in Spirit and in Truth, is of most importance. Time is running out so this message most be heard far and wide.
“REPENT AND PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD”.
As I look at the passing of time in the scriptures regarding Adam and Eve being placed in the Garden, to the time of Jesus first advent on the earth has been approximately four thousand years. Then there has been another almost two thousand years from Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection until now. Thus we are at the end of six thousand years of mankind on earth. When the seventh thousand years begins, that is the millennial Sabbath when Jesus rules and reigns on earth for a thousand years as LORD of the Sabbath.
Consider that Jesus was born in the year 4 or 5 B.C. and began His ministry at the age of 30, which would be 25 or 26 A.D. Then His ministry lasted three and a half years; this would be between 28 and 30 A.D. Now add two thousand years which comes come to 2028 to 2030 A.D. Thus time is running out! Are you prepared for His soon return; there is not much time left!
The following is an excerpt from Bro. John of Missouri; another watchman sounding the warning:
Most of the so called church, and the world, are one and the same...wicked. They will not grasp that "THIS TIME" that our Lord Jesus spoke of in Luke 12:56 is happening NOW. The world, and most of the church do not understand the times that are now upon us. But God has always had a remnant, that would know the times, and seasons. Dan 12:10 says: "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; (This is what great tribulation will do to the true remnant church) but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise will understand." Most of the wicked church, and the world WILL NOT UNDERSTAND, but the wise...the wide awake remnant of God WILL UNDERSTAND!! Heavenly Father, I pray that you will somehow bless this feeble attempt of mine, to wake up your slumbering church...please Lord...please.. show them, and reveal to them that "THIS TIME" spoken of in Luke 12:56 is happening RIGHT NOW.. before their very eyes. Oh Lord God, hide us, and protect us all under the shadow of thy mighty wings. In Jesus name. Amen.
