WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS IMPOSSIBLE – ISN’T
By W. G. Guy
We all face crisis situations in our lives; but we who are born-again believers in Jesus Christ have access to miraculous and supernatural powers that work on our behalf.
Ephesians 3:20 – Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
The key to this verse is to understand what is that “power that worketh in us”. Obviously this is referring to God’s divine ability that is given to us in the name that is above all names – JESUS. That power we access to through the name of Jesus.
John 14:12-14 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 16:23-24 – And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
It is through Jesus that we have access to the throne of God our Heavenly Father; especially in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
(Note: to come boldly means to come without hesitation.)
Jesus is the only way to access the throne of God our Heavenly Father.
John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
This means that we have the supernatural power of the kingdom of God available to us who believe.
Luke 17:21-22 – And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Since we who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savor, and Lord, have the Spirit Christ dwelling within us; thus we have access to the power of His kingdom through Him, the King of the kingdom.
For example: whenever Jesus ministered to people He told them that the kingdom of God/heaven was near to them.
Matthew 4:17 – From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
This is because He is the King of that kingdom, and His dominion was about to be experienced. Jesus gave this same power to his disciples; and told them what to tell the people as they revealed Jesus and His kingdom to them.
Luke 10:9 & 11 – and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. …. 11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
Since this power and the authority of His name is ours to use to meet our needs, divine, miraculous and supernatural power is available as we trust Him and His Word as we apply those promises to our situations and circumstances. As I have often stated in the past: your situations and circumstances cannot change the Word and promises of God; but the Word and promises of God can change your situations and circumstances.
Jesus told us how to obtain that which seems impossible.
Mark 11:22-24 – And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
How is this possible: because the just shall live and walk by faith: faith in Jesus and His Word that God has freely given to us.
Romans 1:17 – For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Do not be dismayed or overthrown in your faith by what you see, or hear, that the devil uses to create doubt in God’s promises to you to help when you ask.
2 Corinthians 5:7 – …for we walk by faith, not by sight:
What you may see, or hear, may go contrary to what God has promised you. Thus you do have that power within to see God work miracles on your behalf, if the Spirit of Christ is in you and you trust God to do what He said He promised to do for you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Remember and hold fast to Him and His Word:
Ephesians 3:20 – Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
