WORLD IN UPHEAVAL = BIRTH PAINS

What are birth pains? These are physical and natural contractions that a woman experiences in the process of giving birth; bringing forth a new life. These pains expand the birth canal while pushing the child down the path to entering its new life and environment as a living soul. It is the birthing process, and it is painful until it is accomplished; then comes the joy of a welcomed new life.
Isaiah 26:17 – Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs;
Jesus described this birthing process as an illustration of His return that brings His new administration over the earth. His millennial Kingdom is to rule over the earth for a thousand years: this seventh millennium is since God made man, Adam. This will be the reign and rule of Christ as Lord of the Sabbath, the seventh millennial day.
Mark 2:27-28 – And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.
Jesus was asked what would be the sign of His coming and the end of this current age: He responded with signs to look for that would be painful to endure; as a woman in travail in the birthing process.
Matthew 24:3-8 – …..and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
The “beginning of sorrows” refer to the pains in the process of giving birth; bringing forth a new life. These pains will not just be borne by women, but by the entire civilization of the world. These pains will be so troubling that “men’s hearts will fail them for fear of what is coming upon the face of the whole world”.
Luke 21:25-28 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Whether you realize it or not, those birth pains have begun and are now manifesting all around the world at this moment. How long they will last until the anticipated arrival of Christ and His personal rule over the earth is not known, but He has revealed that it is soon based on the signs that are clearly visible now.
Luke 21:28-33 – And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; when they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
As such, Jesus has warned us not be fearful or vexed over what is happening in this vile world, but to look up and keep our focus on Him and His promises to us in His Word. We are not to be focused on, or caught up in, the issues that the news media of world keeps before us: political corruption, wars, famines, earthquakes, pestilences (virus and disease), solar eclipses, celestial events, and horrific storms. Such things only cause people to fear; and giving into fear allows the enemy (the powers of darkness) to control their lives.
Luke 21:34-36 – And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
These upheavals in the world are the birth pangs that reveal that we are now in the last days, and we must deal with these events according to the Word and promises of God in Jesus Christ. This will equip us to endure unto the end and be His witnesses, His light, and His testimony in these last days; even if it costs us our lives. Scripture tells us that these last days will be fraught with danger and tribulation because there is a spiritual war going on and God’s people are the object of this warfare.
Revelation 12:1-4 – And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: and she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
The dragon speaks of Satan, the serpent of the Garden of Eden, who makes war with the believers in Christ, the saints. This is spiritual warfare that takes place first in the heavenly realm, but whose effects also take place here on earth.
Revelation 12:7-9 – And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Through Jesus Christ, and what He provided to us by His sacrifice on the cross, we have the ability to not only fight but to completely overcome this vile enemy as we keep our focus and fellowship on Christ as our LORD and Savior.
Revelation 12:10-11 – And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
What we, as believers, need to recognize is that this earthly life is not as important or significant as is our eternal spiritual life. Everyone dies; it does not matter how, when or where, but what matters is where your life goes afterward.
Hebrews 9:27-28 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Thus it behooves us to know Jesus Christ intimately and follow Him as we are to be conformed to His image as the children of God and prepared for His return, which even all of creation is waiting for.
Romans 8:18-19 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature (creation) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Therefore, fear not what is coming upon the earth. If your faith is firmly in the Lord our God through Jesus Christ and His Word, we will overcome all that will happen and walk in His victory that He has purchased and provided for all that trust in Him.
Jesus exhorted us to watch (be observant) and pray:
Luke 21:38 – Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Yes, travail is coming to this earth – guaranteed! But so has Christ and His Word, which is TRUTH, to which we hold onto in spite of what we observe going on in this vile world; which will pass away in its current corrupt form. And yes, it will be painful for those who do not know Jesus Christ and trust in Him!
Isaiah 13:6-11– Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt”; pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth; they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellation thereof shall not give their light; the shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for theur evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
God’s promises as recorded in His Word are faithful and true.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, (because you won’t be able to figure some things out). In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Even unto the very end!
