THE BLESSINGS OF HAVING AN EAR TO HEAR

Being able to hear what the Spirit is saying is not just very important, but also carries significant blessings from the LORD as follows.
Revelation 2:7 – He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Obviously the Spirit speaks to us encouraging us to be “overcomers” in this life over the world, the flesh and the devil. This also tells us that the Tree of Life still exists, and it is currently available in the Paradise of God, which means in His Presence. This is the place that the soul and spirit of the believers go when they die so they can live eternally. (Note that Jesus is that Tree of Life and was called the Branch as He walked on this earth.)
Revelation 2:11 – He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Again being an overcomer through the power of Christ and His blood promises that we will not suffer the second death which is eternal separation form God.
Revelation 2:17 – He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
And again, to the overcomer in Christ, we are promised to be able to eat from the Lord’s table of His divine food, as well as receiving special recognition by a special marker of identity from Him, having a new name on it.
Revelation 2:25-29 – But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Here we are told that the faithful and overcomers in Christ will be joined with His to rule over the nations; that we shall as lights with Him in glory, (as a morning star).
Revelation 3:5-6 – He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
As an overcomer we shall be clothed in and with His righteousness; with our names listed in the Book of Life; and declared to be His joint heirs to God and His angles.
Revelation 3:12-13 – Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Here is another emphasis of the blessing of being an overcomer in Christ, that we are considered so important to Him that we are identified as special and will uphold significant positions in His government and domain, both in heaven as well as on earth. (Note also that the New Jerusalem, for all eternity, will be the center of the entire universe from which He, and we overcomers, will rule from.)
Revelation 3:21-22 – To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Another expression of we as overcomers in Christ are to rule and reign with Him as we are also given thrones upon which signifies our position of rulership with Him as Sons of God. (Remember what Jesus said in John 1:12-13 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.)
Now you know the importance of having an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying.
