A PRAYER FOR THE 4TH OF JULY - INDEPENDENCE DAY
Father in Heaven, we come in the name of Your Son, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for providing us a nation that was founded on Godly principles, morals and values. Thank you for our founding fathers who sought You for wisdom in setting up our Republic. Thank you for blessing the efforts of our founding fathers in giving us a nation that has prospered and been blessed by you.
We also ask your forgiveness for the neglect that our people and our leadership have had in acknowledging You as our source of blessing, freedom and prosperity over the past several decades. We ask Your forgiveness for rejecting You from our educational institutions and our governmental and financial affairs. We ask Your forgiveness for our selfishness, greed, corruption and forsaking Your laws and values. We also ask Your forgiveness for the immoral laws passed by our recent governmental leaders which condone abortion, homosexuality and same sex marriage. We ask that you move upon our people and leaders to turn and repent of such godless laws.
Lord, help us to recognize that what we celebrate on this 4th of July every year is our independence from the tyranny of man coupled with our dependence on You for Your blessing, guidance and for Your will to be done. Lord, we ask also that You preserve this republic and restore to us our trust in You as our source of security, prosperity and blessing so that we can, in turn, bless others with what You have given us, that we celebrate on this day. We ask this in the name of Your Holy Son, Jesus. Amen!
