GOD IS LIGHT:
1 John 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Light refers to revelation, illumination, knowledge and understanding of what is absolute righteous, just and holy. It is the absence of darkness, which represents evil, corruption and wickedness – sin.
John 1:4-5 – In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 8:12 – Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Jesus brings the revelation of God’s life and holiness so that we mortals, who live and walk in the darkness of sin, can embrace Him and what God has ordained for us to be, and all that we are to have in our relationship with Him.
1 Peter 2:9 – But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Since Light refers to revelation, illumination, knowledge and understanding. It is obvious that this light brings us to the truth which is His Word.
John 8:32 – Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
GOD IS LOVE:
1 John 4:8 – He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus, who is God’s gift to mankind, gave His life for us.
John 15:13 –Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Love GIVES; this is because love is compassion that cares for others. Thus God GIVES the gift of LIFE because He cares for us. As His life is formed in us He expects (commands) that have this same love for Him as well as for others.
GOD IS LIFE:
John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I (God in the flesh) am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is no true LIFE apart from Christ who freely gives His life to us. We have an enemy of true and pure life, and as a thief, he cames to steal and destroy the true, pure God-kind of life. This enemy masquerades what life really is by focusing our attention on the material things of creation.
John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it (zoe) more abundantly.
The LIFE that Jesus gives is the LIFE as God has it – eternal, everlasting LIFE. In the Bible this life is the word zoe. Zoe is only available through Jesus Christ. The forms of life that man already has are bios, which is a biological life form, and psuche, which is the soulish life consisting of your personality, emotional and mental quality which makes you different from anyone else, or from any other life form.
As stated above, LIGHT also refers to revelation knowledge which is TRUTH, and since Jesus is TRUTH, that LIGHT of God is a revelation of Jesus Christ, the one who actually gives LIFE because of His LOVE. This LIGHT is also provided to us through His Word, which is TRUTH. Please embrace all that God’s love has provided so that you may have His LIGHT, His LOVE and HIS LIFE ETERNAL.
