AMERICA MUST REPENT! …(OR ELSE)

The term repent is frequently characterized in a negative light and in a cartoonish manner by a fanatical extremist dooms-day person holding a sign. Such an ideology shows contempt for the very need or idea of repentance.
What does repent mean? In simplest terms it means to change; to turn about; to forsake the current path, behavior, ideology or life-style; and primarily deals with the condition of moral corruption.
Colossians 3:5-6 – Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: for which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
As the title declares, America as a nation needs to repent and turn back to God or face the consequences of our national moral decline. America has a great deal of corruption to repent from. Since America is a nation of people as well as a unique form of government, its people individually and corporately need to repent as well as our government leadership, both individually and corporately. The need for our government to repent includes all levels of government and all individuals working in each department, agency, cabinet office and bureaucracies because of gross lies, deception and corruption; even President Obama was is credited with being the liar of the year. (There is tremendous corruption behind the scenes in our government; so much so that several years ago the Lord showed this writer that “things are not what they appear to be”.)
Proverbs 29:12 – If a ruler harken to lies, all his servants (staff) are wicked.
This means repentance is needed by everyone in congress, both House and Senate; the Executive branch; every Cabinet position and their staff; especially the State Department; also the Federal Court system, beginning with the Supreme Court and each and every Law Enforcement agency under the Department of Justice and including the DHS, FBI, ATF, DEA and on down the line. Add to these every bureaucratic agency such as the EPA, BLM, NEA, and on down the line; and every individual in each unit thereof who is working for this extremely corrupt, immoral and sinful government.
Why is repentance needed? Our corrupt, sinful and immoral government and the majority of people in America have adopted a life of self-indulgence which results in gross sin and corruption. Our government was originally designed to serve and protect the people of this nation, but instead has become the self-serving oppressor of the American people. Our people are also so self-indulgent that they elect those to government positions who promise to satisfy their self-indulgence – selfishness, pride and greed. It is important to understand that selfishness and pride are the basic lusts that lead to sin and corruption.
1 John 2:15-16 – Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
The big “I” of selfishness is the primary problem and includes Lust of the Eye, Lust of the Flesh, and pride of life. It is the fulfilling of these lusts which leads to sin, and the result of sin is spiritual death.
James 1:14-15 – but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
The only solution to avoid spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God, is to repent – CHANGE, and ask God for forgiveness for turning away from Him. Why? Because God, and His Son, Jesus Christ, who judge all things, to whom everyone must give an account of their personal lives! All must face God or Christ in judgment and give an account in order to receive either reward or punishment, both of which are eternal. Unfortunately, accountability seems to be far from everyone’s sense of responsibility.
2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Hebrews 9:27 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
2 Peter 2:9 – the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
Revelation 14:7 – saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Americans have no sense of accountability because there is no fear or even regard of God. However, God’s loving care for mankind allows Him to forgive all of our wrong doing since He has provided the way into His holy presence through His Son, Jesus the Christ. Because of His love and patience, God brings about corrective rehabilitative punishment to cause us to repent; this is referred to as chastisement.
Hebrews 12:6, 11 – for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
America was established by godly Christian men, our founding fathers, who dedicated this nation unto God upon the inauguration of President George Washington on April 30, 1789. History records that on this date in history, when the president was sworn in, a proclamation was made: ”On the morning of the day on which our illustrious President will be invested with his office , the bells will ring at nine o’clock, when the people may go up to the house of God and in a solemn manner commit the new government, with its important train of consequences, to the holy protection and blessing of the Most High. An early hour is prudently fixed for this particular act of devotion and is designed wholly for prayer.”[i]
After President Washington delivered his first presidential address, in which he reaffirmed our nation’s dependence on God’s divine providence, he led the Senate and House of Representatives on foot in a procession through the streets of the capital, (which at that time was New York), to the place appointed for prayer. That place was St. Paul’s Chapel where the new nation was dedicated and committed to God for His blessing and protection.
Interestingly enough, that chapel located in what is now referred to as “Ground Zero” the location of the 9/11 attack in the year 2001.[ii]
It is noteworthy that since America was dedicated to God at its founding, that American has since turned its back on God, rejecting Him and defying His righteous laws and commands, God has, since our rejection of Him during the past century, withheld his blessing and protection which allowed our enemies to attack us as a forewarning and calling America to repent and turn back to God. America’s failure to ask forgiveness and repent will require even more severe events to occur designed to bring the nation and its people to their knees.

Recognize that America was placed in God hands to be a people and land dedicated to Him. God takes a special concern for this nation, especially since America has turned its back on Him. He wants America restored! Remember that America’s motto is “In God We Trust” and that motto is found on most all of our currency.
However, it is our money that is now our god in which we trust. This means that God may soon destroy the value of our money meaning that our false god will fail us. This warning has already been announced by God’s watchmen. Yet we still defy His laws with man’s laws that call good evil, and evil good; and legislate contrary to God’s righteous ways.
Isaiah 25:20 – Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for
darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Psalm 119:126 – It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law.
Isaiah 10:1 – Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness (legislation) which they have prescribed;
Psalm 94:20 – Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief (lawlessness) by a law?
These gross violations include, but are not limited to: abortion, (the shedding of innocent blood); homosexuality (sodomy); adultery; fornication; all manner of sex sins, thievery (by both government and people); and idolatry (worship of things and personalities other than God), lies and deceit. Our government, and much of our population, is in absolute rebellion against God as demonstrated by our behavior, our lust and our progressively liberal laws.
Why do we need to repent, because the beliefs and behavior of our nation is not acceptable in the Kingdom of God, (in His domain), and our works are of godlessness, sinful and selfish flesh.
Galatians 5:19-21 – Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 – Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
The “or else” is because our being crosswise with almighty God and the consequences for not repenting and turning back to God means not only punishment here in this life but also failing to have access to the Kingdom of God for all eternity. Being shut out from God means eternal torment in outer darkness in the lake of fire that was only intended for Satan and his minions.
What is it going to take to bring about national and personal repentance and turning back to God? It will take punishment – corrective rehabilitative chastisement to bring the nation and its people to their knees and cry out to God for MERCY – thus many will REPENT. This means that some very terrible and troubling events are going to occur to this nation, its people and its government. Things will not be permitted to continue in the sinful corrupt manner in which they are now! God has already removed His protection, prosperity and blessing from America, and some of the results of our sinful ways are already coming upon us.
Though many may repent, others will not repent but will become even more defiant of God, even though they recognize God’s wrath on sin. They try to hide to avoid God’s punishment, even acknowledging it is God’s punishment, but they love their selfish sinful life so much they refuse to change.
Revelation 6:15-17 – And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Those who reject God’s corrective rehabilitative punishment are doomed to eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire, often referred to as HELL.
Since God’s corrective punishment will apply to America as a nation, everyone in this nation will be affected – the righteous as well as the sinners. However, God knows how to protect and provide for those who love and obey Him and who follow His will and His Word, even during such trials and tribulation. These godly ones will be blessed for all eternity.
1 Corinthians 2:9 – But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
So it important to understand that God’s chastisement is meant for us to avoid eternal punishment.
Matthew 25:46 – And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
It is God’s love that carries His people through the difficult times that are coming upon this nation to bring about repentance. Though there are many who repudiate such an idea of God’s punishment for our behavior, they do not realize just how severe it will be so as to change the very fabric of our society and government; its’ purpose is to get us to repent so we can be restored to His favor and blessings. Failure to repent means very foreboding and destructive times lie immediately ahead. Why?......because God loves us and only wants the best for us. That “best” is to abide in Him and with Him in His righteousness.
AMERICA – REPENT for the kingdom of God is at hand.
Matthew 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
