REAL SURVIVAL GEAR
By W. G. Guy
I frequently view various “Christian” news web sites that post alternative news because I have no confidence in the propaganda produced by the main stream news media. However, I noticed that many of these sites feature a lot of “gloom and doom” items as their news reports. It is also obvious why they publish these sort of articles; they use them to promote their “survival gear” which is how they generate their revenue.
They want you to purchase their products such as emergency food supplies, items for your “bug-out bag”, and all manner of things needed to survive an apocalyptic event. I live in Florida where we are subject to destructive storms and hurricanes; it is only prudent to have some emergency supplies on hand, which I do have. However they want you to purchase enough supplies to live for a lengthy period of time “off the grid”, and to have a secure location somewhere that will be far from destructive forces and marauding gangs of people; a place filled with their survival gear and supplies. This is quite impractical, as well as being impossible for the majority of people.
I sought the Lord in prayer as to what to do about being able to survive the kind of events these web sites continue to warn about, and the Holy Spirit clearly gave me the answer as to the real survival gear that is needed. That one item that is to be our survival gear is THE WORD OF GOD, and placing absolute trust in it!
Knowing His Word, His loving care for you, and His precious promises are what we need to meet all of our needs in times of evil, catastrophic or apocalyptic events. Please recognize that your situation and circumstances cannot change God’s Word and promises for you; but God’s Word and promises can change your situation and circumstances – if you truly trust Him.
The following is just a small example of what He has promised; please take these into your heart and mind and hold fast to them. Faith and trust in God and His loving promises for you will see you through any cataclysmic (evil) events regardless of what they are or who is behind them.
Matthew 6:31-34 – Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Psalm 37-19 & 25 – They (God’s children) shall not be ashamed in the evil (calamity) time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. ……I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed (children) begging bread.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Isaiah 26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
Romans 8:31-32 – What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:38-39 – For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Philippians 4:19 – But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:7 – casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Read the entire chapter of Psalm 34 because it is filled with the promises of God to watch over His children: the key is to be one of His children through believing in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. Read Psalm 91 also.
John 1:12 – But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
God watches over His children! Now you know the real survival gear – it’s the Holy Bible; with faith in what God has said, and what Jesus has done for you. He will see you through any and all troubling events. My own personal testimony is that “God makes a way where there is no way”.
