AN APPOINTED DAY OF JUDGMENT
By W. G. Guy
I asked the Lord questions: “Why did you not judge Lucifer/Satan after he led his rebellion in defiance of you eons ago? Why did you permit him to continue his evil and cause all that is corrupt among mankind in this world?”
He then gave me the answer. He told me that there is an appointed time when He will execute His sentence on all sin and unrepented wickedness, along with Satan, his minions and the evil works thereof. That will occur at the Great White Throne Judgment referred to in Revelation 20; (more on that to follow). All sin and evil from the past, right up unto present, are to be dealt with and are awaiting this final court date – at the appointed time. In the meantime, many from the past are in their “holding cell” as convicted criminals await their sentencing.
In my past I worked as a law enforcement officer, and at times I was assigned to be a court officer to aid the judge in sentencing of those who were convicted of serious crimes. Those who were convicted of second or first degree felonies would be returned to jail to await their sentencing date which could be months later. It appears that this is similar to what happens with God dealing the wicked and unrepentant sinners, as well as Satan and his angels that sinned in their rebellion against God.
What does God’s Word say about judgment?
Ecclesiastes 12:14 – For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Hebrews 9:27 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Our death and burial is not the end of our existence, but the beginning of eternity. Our destiny in that eternity is determined by our relationship with Jesus Christ who is our only advocate between us and God the Father.
1 John 1:6 - 2 John 2:2 – If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Sentencing, and the execution thereof, is set for an appointed time when all that are judged guilty, who are in their temporary holding cell of hell, are awaiting for that appointed time when they are thrown into the Lake of Fire for all eternity. Even the angels that sinned with the daughters of men (Genesis 6) are still held in their “holding cells” awaiting that appointed time of sentencing.
2 Peter 2:4 & 9 – For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; ……. the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
God will even pass judgment upon the heaven and earth as both have been corrupted by Lucifer/Satan.
2 Peter 3:7 – but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
There are two judgments that are yet to occur. First is the Judgment Seat of Christ in which only the born-again (saved from sin) will appear. This judgment is to determine the eternal rewards for their works; for what they have done, or for what they failed to do, in which they fail to get a reward.
John 5:22 – For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Jesus, God’s Son, is the judge that determines if one is acquitted of their sins and saved. If they are not acquitted by Jesus, then they are reserved for the Great White Throne judgment of God the Father for sentencing.
Romans 14:10 – …… for we (believers) shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
1 Corinthians 3:7-8 & 13-15 – So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. …… 13 every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
God is the Just, Righteous and True Judge in whom there is nothing hidden for excuse for mitigation.
Romans 2:2-4 – But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
The righteous have nothing to fear at this judgment because they have confidence, believing that Jesus paid the price to atone for their sins, as declared by the apostle Paul.
2 Timothy 2:12 – For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
The final judgment belongs to Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, who will set in order His final judgment upon all wickedness and rebellion at that appointed day.
Psalm 9:7-8 – But the LORD shall endure for ever: He hath prepared His throne for judgment. And He shall judge the world in righteousness, He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
That appointed day will be the Great White Throne judgment, this is when God, our Heavenly Father, will set in order all of eternity between the righteous and the wicked.
Revelation 20:10-13 – And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
All that is an offense to God, including death and hell, will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 20:14-15 – And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
God’s will is that no man be placed in the Lake of Fire because it is reserved for Satan and his angels and all that are wicked.
Matthew 25:41 – Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Jesus Christ made provision for all of mankind to escape such an eternal damnation: unfortunately, many have not accepted His provision, so their names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Therefore, many shall not be with Him in His Holy Presence in the City of God.
Revelation 21:22-27 – And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Will you be counted worthy to escape all the judgment that is coming upon the earth and the hell fire that the devil and the unrepentant sinners will face?
Luke 21:34-36 – And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man, (at the Judgment Seat of Christ).
Is your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Now is the day of salvation and repentance, because there is an appointed day of judgment – and it is coming sooner than many think!
