TRUTH vs DECEPTION
By W. G. Guy
Matthew 24:4-5 – And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Most Christians agree that we are now living in the last days, also called the “end times”. Jesus said that one of the signs of the last days was rampant DECEPTION, which is the result of pure TRUTH missing from much of what we are told, taught and hear. This means that there is also a lack of discernment as to what is right and wrong; along with an unwillingness to make sound judgment, and lacking the ability or effort to make good choices.
Matthew 24:24 - For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
In the above verse we see that the deception Jesus is warning about is primarily spiritual and aimed at believers, the elect. To be deceived means to believe what is not true, to put confidence in a lie; (much like how our politicians function). This end time deception actually manifests in every faction of life: social, political, commercial, educational, entertainment, etc. However, the focus of this article is the end-time deception of the enemy’s attempt to bring untruth into the church, thereby deceiving the saints to believe what is false and to subvert their faith.
Since the word Christ means anointed one, Jesus is referring to false teachers and preachers that claim they are “anointed ones”. What they do and teach is not pure truth but contains or shows something false. It doesn’t have to be 100% false to be a lie or a false teaching; like a little leaven, it only takes a small lie or error added to truth to totally corrupt it.
Deception can be as subtle as a little error mixed in with the truth, up to the absence of any truth at all. Most people can recognize the complete absence of truth, that being a total lie or fabrication. The problem comes when an undetectable lie is implanted in with the truth. This is exactly how Satan works in his effort to deceive God’s people. Remember it worked with Eve in the garden; and Satan has been using his corrupt subtlety ever since on God’s people; even more so today.
One of Satan’s subtleties is telling Christians that they should not judge because judgment is not ours to do because it belongs to God. In his subtlety, he causes a negative connotation on the function making determinations of what is right and what is wrong. He has convinced Christians that it is wrong to pass judgment; it’s wrong to make a determination and pronouncement. Let’s take a look at what scripture has to say about this when God had to deal with His people in the past, much like conditions are today.
As you read the following scripture consider how it applies to our nation and especially in those that run our government.
Isaiah 59:1-15 – Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither
his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood (abortion): their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
Indeed, TRUTH is fallen in the street today, and when there is NO TRUTH, there is nothing you can put your trust in. Why do we lack truth? …. because we no longer pass judgment on what is told to us, as listed in the above passage. The word judgment as used here is the Hebrew word for justice and means to make a judicial pronouncement; a determination of right and wrong, true or false. A failure to execute proper judgment results in a lack of true justice or truth being applied to a given situation; this means we are relying on lies which produces corruption and wickedness.
Facts about TRUTH and what God’s Word has to say about it: truth is defined as - sincerity, honesty, conformity with fact, reality, actual existence, correctness, accuracy and that which is factual and can stand up to scrutiny.
John 4:23-24 – But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 8:32 – And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:40, 45 & 46 – But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? The above verses speak of those who refuse to believe or accept the truth; instead they prefer their perverted beliefs and traditions because they were raised with them.
John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:16-17; 15:26 & 16:13 – And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
The above verses tell us that truth is revealed by the Holy Spirit. So how is it that many who claim to have the Holy Spirit appear to be lacking in truth as so many have differing, even opposing, doctrines. Could it be because they do not have the true Holy Spirit but the counterfeit, the imposter who is also known as the spirit of antichrist; the means the enemy is using to introduce deception among Christians?
John 17:17 – Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Always go to the Word of God to verify a doctrine, tradition or religious practice in order to verify if it is of God or not.
John 17:19 – And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. These two verses tell us that truth sanctifies – it sets us apart and makes us unique - holy. The opposite, therefore, means that lies defile us.
Matthew 15:11 – Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Romans 1:18 – For God’s [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative. (from the Amplified Bible).
Romans 1:25 – Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. This is true even more so today.
2 Corinthians 4:2 – But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. Today a good example of the deceitful handling of God’s Word is by, what I call, Christian Extortionists; preachers who proclaim the doctrine of prosperity – all for their personal gain as revealed by the apostle Paul:
1 Timothy 6:5 – Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
Galatians 3:1 – O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Turning from truth, accepting doctrine that is not true is called being bewitched, coming under the control of ungodly sources.
Galatians 4:16 – Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
In a perverse world, or church, those who tell the truth and expose false doctrines and lies are treated like enemies and are hated. People prefer to trust in the lies and deceptions they have come to accept.
Ephesians 4:15 – But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: The God kind of love speaks truth because it does not want people to suffer the consequences of error.
Ephesians 5:9 – (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
The Fruit of the Spirit requires TRUTH, spoken in love out of concern for others.
Ephesians 6:14 – Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Truth is a means to stand against the wiles of the enemy, his lies and deceptions (false teachings). Without seeking truth believers are vulnerable to the enemy.
1Timothy 2:4 – Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God’s intent is for mankind to be free of deception, false doctrines and beliefs, so they can walk and live in the fullness of Christ without hindrance. Yet it is the enemy’s intent to rob kill and destroy (John 10:10).
1Timothy 6:3-5 – If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
Many in these last days are teaching something other than truth which is a snare of the enemy to take people captive and bring them into bondage of false beliefs and practices and steer them away from God’s truth for them.
2 Timothy 2:15 – Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Sound Bible teaching is required of the Lord in those who have positions to impart knowledge to His people.
2 Timothy 2:18 – Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
Teaching error or adding lies to what the Bible says can overthrow the faith of those under such influence. Why? because they are trusting in something other than God’s Word; trusting in a lie which cannot help them or be fulfilled.
2 Timothy 3:7-8 – Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
There are those who have a quest for knowledge without concern for truth. Satan tempted Eve with the Tree of Knowledge. Thus there is right knowledge, (truth) and evil or wicked knowledge that is destructive.
2 Timothy 4:4 – And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Believing things that are not of God, but of the enemy, leads to destruction.
Titus 1:14 – Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Today we have an abundance of false doctrines among the churches leading people to believe in and observe false traditions, fantasies and fables.
James 5:19-20 – Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
False doctrines and practices were present back in the early church as James had to deal with; so how much more do you think such is present today in our churches? It should be our effort to restore pure truth back into the churches and restore people’s faith and obedience to God and not to man’s doctrines or church denominational creeds and traditions.
2 Peter 1:12 – Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
There is not much “present truth” nowadays, but a mix of a lot of man’s doctrines, (and doctrines of devils), in our churches. That is why there are so many different sects, denominations and varying doctrines among Christians today. Each group thinks it is right; but they can’t all be right and believe different things! The truth is in there somewhere but it has been mixed with the lies of the enemy.
2 Peter 2:2 – And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
These false “anointed” preachers, along with many “un-anointed” preachers, rail against those who attempt to restore truth and speak against the many false doctrines and beliefs prevalent today in churches.
3 John 1:4 – I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. We are to rejoice in truth! This also means we should grieve over error, lies and deceptions that hold people in bondage.
Facts about DECEPTION:
Defined as – an illusion, fraud, to believe what is false, to mislead. Fraud = deceit, trickery, intentional deception, an imposter; such as employed to obtain something or achieve something illegally or improperly; a deceptive means of manipulation to gain control or advantage. The following is what God’s Word has to say about deception and deceit:
Psalm 119:118 – Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.
God is against those teach and promote error; and yet they think they are serving and honoring God. Theirs is actually a false religion and not true Christianity. Yet many today who follow such preachers believe themselves to be Christians; (a form of godliness as stated in 2 Timothy 3:5).
Mark 7:21-23 – For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Notice that deceit is viewed by God as an evil thing because it is destructive to what God has provided by His grace and mercy.
Matthew 24:24 – For there shall arise false Christs (anointed ones), and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Deception is not limited to lies, doctrines and preaching errors. Events can also be deceptive, namely, false signs and wonders; supernatural things that people attribute to God but are actually from Satan. Scripture refers to these as lying signs and wonders:
2 Thessalonians 2:9 - Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.
Lying signs and wonders are deceptions designed to make people believe something that is not real or true. As stated earlier, the purpose of deception is a means of manipulation to gain control or advantage. People tend to become followers of preachers/teachers who appear to possess such abilities – often referred to as “the anointing”.
Warning from scripture to BEWARE of deception:
Ephesians 5:6 – Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Colossians 2:8 – Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:2 - But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:3 – For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 – For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Deceivers actually portray the character of antichrist:
2 John 1:7 – For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Those deceived are classified as apostates:
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 – And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
There are some preachers/teachers who declare that it is OK to participate in worldly affairs and do things that sinners do – practicing unrighteousness.
Romans 1:25 - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Today we have an even greater abundance of those in churches who practice what is completely opposed to what God has established, (yes this refers to homosexuality).
2 Corinthians 4:2 – But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Paul recognized that there were those in the ministry who were not preaching truth and he declared himself separated from them.
Galatians 3:1 – O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
To believe false doctrines based on lies means to come under the influence of the enemy as though a spell was cast upon them to blind their eyes and understanding.
How are we to relate to those to teach lies or error?
1 Timothy 6:5 - Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. What constitutes deception? The most basic form of deception is the lie!
John 8:44 – Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Most of us know that one little lie leads to another one in order to support the first lie. This leads to another lie, which leads to another one, and so on. The progression of lies is necessary to support the original lie in an attempt to obscure the first falsehood that was put in place. Apply this concept to any fact or doctrine and over time it is hard to recognize the original fact, story or doctrine because so much has been added to it. The end result is people are not told the truth and therefore have no truth to believe; instead they believe a lie.
The source of lies originates with Satan, the master of deceit; it is his evil character and nature to deceive for the sake of achieving his destructive goals.
John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
In the world today, as a sign of the last days, we see lies and deception in almost every facet affecting our lives. Besides this subtlety we see in churches, we also see it in abundance in society, personal relationships, in the media and entertainment, and especially in politics, both local and national. Truth, indeed, has fallen in the streets.
The troubling fact is that we have become so desensitized by lies and deception from our constant exposure to what is not true, so that we no longer have any care or discernment to be concerned about it. For example, nearly every TV show is a lie, a fabrication or portrayal that does not really exist. Actors play roles to portray someone they are not, and people pay money to view such false shows and movies and call it entertainment. There is no truth in any of it! Comedians tell funny stories to make us laugh but mostly they are telling us lies and events that never really happened. Politicians lie to gain positions of influence and control, and the general public knows they lie but accept it as common practice anyhow; and then they vote for these liars who have actually made themselves servants of Satan. It’s no wonder that we have such corruption in our government and the passing of laws that are contrary to God’s Word?
All this daily conditioning we are exposed to keeps us from renouncing what is deceptive and we just go along with it since it is the norm. Unfortunately the same applies to our churches and much of what Christians have come to accept as their belief system today.
Is there anything in your church that is not purely based on the Bible? Is there anything in your doctrine or belief system that you were taught that is not true. You need to compare your church’s doctrines with God’s Word, searching them out for truth and to see if there is any error in it. Don’t do as many and try to use the Word to justify your doctrine because anything can be justified from the Word of God if not “rightly divided”. Specific doctrines are not going to be addressed here because the topic is just too large to deal with in this article.
What about typical church traditions; does any one ask where they came from and why we observe them. It should be an item of great concern to every Christian because many traditions do not have their origin based on what God ordained and set in order in the Bible. Jesus had this same problem with the accepted and revered religious traditions of His day when the religious leaders confronted Him about “their” traditions.
Matthew 15:1-3, 6 & 9 - Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? …..Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Is there anything about your church traditions that are not in the Bible? How about certain holidays that the church observes as compared with God’s holidays? Why does the church not observe God’s ordained holidays instead of man’s holidays? First, consider that God instituted very special holidays for His people to observe. They are specified holy-days which were special “Sabbaths” days when no one is to work; thus these holy days became known as holidays. (In no way does this promote a return to Judaism, the religion of the Jews until the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.)
Each of these special feast days have a prophetic representation about Jesus and God’s plan and purpose in redemption and restoration of mankind back into fellowship with God. You are encouraged to study the significance of these feasts days for yourself. See how each celebration has fulfilled, and some yet to be fulfilled, in Jesus: his birth, his crucifixion, the coming of the Holy Spirit and birth of the church, Christ’s atonement and his long awaited second coming. Contrast these holidays with what man has established and you will see the errors that are commonly accepted by Christians. Let’s look at errors in just two of the most prominent examples.
Is there anything about Christmas that Christians observe that is not in the Bible? Almost everything! Jesus was not born on December 25th. The Mass for Christ, or Christmas, was a contrivance of the Roman Catholic Church to “Christianize” a popular pagan festival known as Saturnalia. (Do some research for yourself to see what this was all about). Jesus was actually born during one of God’s ordained holy-days which the church does not observe. (Hint: it wasn’t in the winter-time). Christmas, as is currently celebrated is nothing but lies, deceptions and fabrications that seem to be added on to every few years with the likes of Santa Claus, Frosty, Rudolf, the Grinch and many other deceptive cartoon forms of entertainment. The church of the first three centuries did not practice or observe such a celebration! The Puritans who settled this country even outlawed Christmas due to its debauchery, drunkenness, immoral and promiscuous form of celebration that it became in Europe.
Is there anything about Easter that Christians observe that is not in the Bible? Here again, Easter was a contrivance of the Roman Catholic Church to “Christianize” another popular pagan celebration; the coming of Spring and the worship of the Queen of Heaven, (Jeremiah 7:16-18), whom the Catholic Church refers to as Mary, the Mother of God. The ancient pagan Queen of Heaven had a different name in each ancient civilization: Venus, Astarte, Ashteroth, Ishtar and Eastre (sound familiar); each being a local goddess of sex and fertility – that’s right, a celebration commemorated with eggs and bunny rabbits. (Again, do some research for yourself to see what this was all about).
Christians need to ask questions as to where some of our traditions and doctrines come from, how they got started and are they really from truth based on God’s Word. For example regarding the resurrection of Jesus from the grave: how do you get three days and three nights that Jesus was in the grave with the observation of His crucifixion on Good Friday and His resurrection before sunrise on Sunday? You don’t! ….this is yet another contrivance of the Roman Catholic Church. To find out when Jesus was really crucified you need to know God’s ordained holy-days. This will also tell you when to celebrate the true time of Jesus’ resurrection.
In the year, 2008, the difference between what the church observes and true observance of the actual event was almost a month apart. For the truth about celebrating Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection you need to recognize the Jewish feast of Passover. Jesus, who became our Passover Lamb, (1 Corinthians 5:7), was killed on the day of preparation (John 19:14-15, 31, 42) – the day the sacrificial Passover Lamb was killed. This occurred before Passover began. Passover is the Jewish annual High Holy Sabbath and Jesus had to be off the cross before sunset that day as the official celebration began at sunset. This was not the weekly Sabbath of Saturday. Then count three nights and three days in the grave and you will see when to celebrate the resurrection. Jesus was crucified on the cross on Wednesday, removed before sunset and placed in the grave. Now count three nights and three days and you see that Jesus rose from the grave after sunset on Saturday – thus they found the grave empty at sunrise on Sunday, the first day of the week. How did we ever screw this up so badly – we followed Roman Catholic traditions and still do, unfortunately.
Another topic in which a great deal of error exists in the church is the many differing views about Escatology – the study of end time events. There are many “theories” about what is yet to happen and how, but all are taught by their respective promoters as though they are facts. However, something isn’t a fact until is has actually happened and can be documented as to how it occurred. Again there is not sufficient space to deal with this topic here, but consider that most teachers of this topic try to mix prophesies in Book of Daniel with what is recorded in the Book of Revelation. This in itself is the cause of much error because teachers fail to realize that most of what is the prophesied in the Book of Daniel was written to the Jews, (Daniel 10:14), most of which has already been fulfilled as of this date and does not deal with the antichrist as is commonly taught. The Book of Revelation is written to the church; thus two different peoples in two different times with two different experiences.
Isn’t it amazing that the words Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well can be applied to so many Christians today: John 4:22 – Ye worship ye know not what….
We need to compare what we believe and practice today with the Word of God to see what is really of God and what is fabrication of man or Satan. Why is it that Christians continue to worship and honor God falsely, in error and not in truth? Because we have been deceived by the enemy to believe his lies to keep us from doing what God wants:
John 4:23-24 – But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Those servants of God that try to reveal the truth are mocked and made outcasts; just as was done to God’s prophets in the Old Testament, so it is today. It seems people don’t want to hear the truth – not even Christians. Nevertheless, the truth must go forth because we will be judged based on the truth. And there is no excuse for believing and practicing error since God gave us His Word which is truth; and he gave us His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, that we may know and walk in truth.
For the past couple years in my daily prayers I ask for God to put a hunger and thirst in His people for TRUTH and that they will distain error, false doctrines and traditions, renouncing them and be free from the religious bondages the enemy has brought on the church and Christians to keep them from knowing and experiencing all that God has for them.
Ephesians 4:14 – That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Now read again the passage at the beginning of this article quoted from Isaiah 59 to see how this prophecy also applies to today.
John 8:31-32 – Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Continue in GOD’S word (which is truth)!
