THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD

The word kingdom refers to a dominion, or domain of a king or ruler, thus a form of government. The word world comes from the Greek word cosmos which means social order and refers to mankind. So the kingdoms of the world actually refer to governments of man – man’s domain.
However the Bible clearly tells us who is actually in control of the kingdoms (governments) of man and the world. There is an unseen power that dominates man’s governments, and it is none other than Satan as he himself declares to Jesus.
Luke 4:5-6 – And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Notice what the devil said to Jesus regarding the kingdoms of the world, “for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it”. This shows that Satan has possession of the governments and can give it to whom he wants; namely to his servants or those under his influence. We also see that Satan desires to be worshipped and recognized as the world’s master – even to the point of having Jesus worship him.
Luke 4:7 – If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
When were the kingdoms of the world delivered to the devil? This is spelled out in Genesis 3 when Eve, and then Adam, submitted to Satan’s subtlety and temptation. Up until that time man had dominion over all the earth (Genesis 1:26-28), that is, until they submitted to Satan; and since then he has had control over man. So we see that even though the earth is the Lord’s, man and his government is under the devils influence and control giving Satan the kingdoms of the world.
This means that the world’s kings, presidents, rulers and dictators are all children of the devil if they are not truly “born again” children of God being transferred into the kingdom of God. Thus they rule on behalf of Satan over their particular domain or country. This means nothing but horrible trouble for those under their domain.
We need to recognize that there are only two kingdoms that rule over mankind; these two are the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. The kingdom of God gained through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ who delivers people from the kingdoms of this world and Satan. There is no neutral realm or middle ground; it is either God’s kingdom or Satan’s kingdom that people are in.
What does all this mean to us today, especially here in America in which we are having serious problems. Currently our government is full of corruption and unrighteousness to the extreme. What we need to recognize is that our national problems coming out of Washington D.C. are not political but spiritual. Even though the media keeps its focus on political conflicts; but it’s all a smoke screen to obscure what is really going on.
America is unique in that it was founded by men of godly and moral principles who recognized our dependence on God for our national establishment and well- being. One of the founders even declared the need to maintain righteousness and morality. John Adams, second President of the United States of America declared:
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious (godly) people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Thus when you take godliness and morality out of our constitutional republic all that is left is the immoral corruption of unrighteous mankind. John Adams was familiar with the Bible which also states:
Proverbs 14:34 – Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
Proverbs 29:2 – When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
The political display coming out of Washington D.C. is superficial and masks what is really going on and hides the real problems. It is not Democrats vs Republicans. It is not the Left vs the Right. It is not Liberals vs Conservatives. Our nation’s problems are spiritual; it’s godliness vs ungodliness; it is righteousness vs unrighteousness; it is truth vs lies and deception; it is God’s children vs the devil’s children! Selah – (think on this)!
Please recognize that Jesus, the Son of God, came to mankind to introduce us to the Kingdom of God and presented himself as the only means of entering into that Kingdom. From the very beginning of his earthly ministry, Jesus declared that the kingdom of man/devil is nothing but sin and needs to be repented from.
Matthew 4:17 – From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Those who are God’s children through belief in the atoning work of His Son, Jesus Christ, are the righteous and reflect His character and nature; these are true Christians as they represent Christ. Those who are the devils children do not know God or His Son Jesus Christ; they reflect the character and carnal nature of Satan. So what is
the character and nature of Satan, the devil? Jesus identified it in the following scriptures:
John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Do we see any of Satan’s character in our elected or appointed officials? How about thievery, stealing our money and possession through abusive taxation and abusive IRS policies and penalties. How about killing by means of abortion, persecution or opposition, or use of drones. How about destruction of other nations by wars, or of the American way of life, by means of unconstitutional laws or militarized law enforcement. How about lies and deception. Have you noticed the extensive use of lies and deception by nearly all elected officials?
John 8:44 – Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Recently (2012) an American president, Obama, has been credited as liar of the year; it seems almost everything he says is a lie or a means of deception. (Now we can add Biden to that list.) Obama is also credited with saying, “I’m good at killing people”, in reference to his use of drones.
Notice Satan’s children have the devil’s own lusts in them. We see these lusts identified in scripture:
1 John 2:16 – For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
These three lustful character traits are the same ones that the devil used to tempt Eve in the garden; they are also the same three that the devil used to tempt Jesus after His fasting in the wilderness. Lust of the eye = I want; lust of the flesh = I will; pride of life = I am. All have to do with the big “I”. Simply stated, all that is in the world under the devils influence is based on SELFISHNESS, GREED and PRIDE. This is the base character of Satan.
These are unrighteous works of the flesh, and those that do so are not of the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21 – Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
It is by means of unrighteous, godless and immoral behavior that we recognize the children of the devil as compared to the children of God.
1 John 3:10 – In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Is it any wonder that scripture tells us not to put our trust in man or in princes, (rulers of governments), but to put our trust in God, the one who loves us and cares for us, and not to follow the one who is out to steal, kill and destroy us.
Psalm 118:8-9 – It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
True Christians are engaged in a spiritual warfare whether they recognize it or not. It is important to recognize the warfare so you can take appropriate action to fight with the weapons we are given, otherwise the devil can take advantage of you.
Ephesians 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 – For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
Our weapons are spiritual; speaking the Word of God in prayer over those in leadership, and by praying against the devil’s devices and plans, pulling them down. This is a reason why the apostle Paul told Timothy to pray for kings, presidents and those in authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 – I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We are to intercede for rulers so we can have a quiet and peaceable life in all goodness and honesty. Failure to intercede means those rulers who are under the devil’s influence will have free reign to create havoc in the lives of Christians, (just as is happening now in America). We are to pray for them to be converted; and we pray to hinder the devil’s influence over those in leadership and to thwart the devil’s and our enemy’s plans. We also pray to have godly leadership and for those in leadership to seek godly wisdom whereas they otherwise employ devilish wisdom which is of this world.
Lies generate envy and strife by rejecting truth. Most politicians resort to lies and use worldly and devilish reasoning (wisdom) to justify themselves and promote their evil works. Such people believe their own lies and are themselves deceived. Why, because these children of the devil have rejected truth and are led by the spirit of antichrist.
2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 – Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
Notice that which is opposed to the righteousness that is of Christ is of the spirit of antichrist. This is why their efforts are in direct contrast with the moral character that is to be seen in true Christians. Because they are deceived by the lies of the devil they depend on worldly (devilish) wisdom to justify their reasoning and evil decisions.
James 3:14-17 – But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
1 Corinthians 1:20 – Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1 Corinthians 2:6-7 – Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
Much of America’s problems today are because of Christian’s failure to pray and intercede for our nation’s leaders; leaders of not only government but also leaders of other institutions – education, entertainment, churches, etc. We also need to pray and seek God’s dominion over ourselves as Jesus Christ directed.
Matthew 6:9-10 – After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Two kingdoms are in conflict. We are in a war and every believer needs to fight the fight of faith, not only for himself and family, but also for his nation. There is soon coming a time when the war will be over and Satan’s influence will be removed.
Revelation 11:15 – And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
At this time unrighteous mankind who still reject Jesus Christ will continue their opposition to God and will thus be subject to God’s wrath and judgment.
Revelation 6:15-17 – And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Please note that such judgment is also going to be upon the super wealthy and elite that use their money and influence to buy, manipulate and control our nation’s leaders from behind the scenes by “pulling their strings”.
James 5:1-7 – Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
These wealthy elitists are also pawns of the devil to do his bidding. This will likely include those who are members of the secret societies of the world who have an agenda of creating a New World Order or globalism. Such as the Illuminati, The Bilderbergers, the Club of Rome, the International Monetary Fund, the Bank of International Settlements, the Bohemian Grove, the Skull and Bones, the Masons above the 33rd degree, The World Economic Forum, and there are still more others.
Revelation 11:18 – And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
Pray to hinder the enemy’s plans and efforts. Pray to loose and advance the truth, the Word of God and the Kingdom of God. Pray to intercede for those in leadership to have a personal life changing experience with Jesus Christ.
Which kingdom do you belong to, ….the Kingdom of God, or the kingdoms of this world, the ones of man and the devil?
