WHY ARE SO MANY BLIND TO THE TRUTH

Recent events in America and in other countries around the world in the year 2011 show a definite pattern and direction that are seriously alarming because of the results that such events will produce. Yet the majority of the leadership, both in America and in those other nations fail to grasp the gravity of where such events are leading. The same lack of perception is evident in the main stream news media. In fact, these influential people wrongfully criticize, deride and castigate those who recognize the truth about the approaching problems and who sound the warning of what they see approaching.
This situation became a matter of prayer to this writer as to why so many of our leaders and influential people cannot see where these events are leading. The answer to that prayer came and is very simple as stated in the Holy Bible. To sum it up, it’s the difference between the righteous and the unrighteous. The righteous are those who know God and walk in the light of His truth. The unrighteous walk in darkness and cannot see truth. It’s the difference between those who have a relationship with God and those do not. Those who do not have a relationship with God cannot, or refuse, to see the truth and are thus blind to the truth. This is a spiritual blindness that totally blocks the perception and understanding of unfolding events. This may sound harsh about those who cannot see, so let’s look at the how and why of this state of blindness and you will see why it is and from whence it comes.
To begin we must start with TRUTH, and GOD’s Word as contained in the Holy Bible is TRUTH, and it must be received and believed.
John 17:17 - Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
What is the opposite of truth - lies and deception. Where do lies and deception come from? The enemy of God and His righteousness – Satan, who is the father of liars. So we have a clear distinction between righteousness and unrighteousness; what is of God and what is of Satan; light and darkness; truth and deception.
John – 8:44 – you are of your father the devil, and the lusts (desires) of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
1 John 3:10 – In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
Those who believe in God, Jesus Christ and the Bible are made righteous through their faith. They are no longer under the influence and control of Satan; they are now saved from that condition and have become children of God by their faith, and they are able to walk in the light, (enlightenment and spiritual understanding). They are made righteous, and thus have the morals and values of righteousness – right doing.
Romans 10:9-10 – That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him form the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Philippians 3:9 – Christ…and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
The righteous recognize truth and also recognize deception and error (lies). The unrighteous lack the spiritual quality to know spiritual truth; thus they are spiritually blind and are in darkness. Being spiritually blind they are ignorant of the things of God, His plan, His purpose, His Word (truth), and what lies ahead.
It is quite obvious that those who know God, Jesus Christ and the Bible have a keen sense of right values and morals. Those who don’t know God, Jesus Christ and the Bible DO NOT have a sense of right values and morals. That is why they support abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, and many other fleshly vices. In political terms it identifies those on the Right differing from those on the Left. In simple terms, one is Right and the other is Wrong (Left).
The liberal leftists promote immorality, are anti-god, anti-christian, anti-right, anti-capitalism and anti-individual rights and freedoms. At the same time they promote the religion of man known as Humanism, or man as god, and also promote big government including socialism, communism and the collective network of man; they have the belief that manmade government should control all lives. They view individual rights and freedoms as a threat to their socialist agenda. They also promote a global society, trying to bring everyone in the world under the control of an elite few. They don’t believe in God; instead, in their view man is god and as such has all the answers. These leftists are God haters, Christian haters, and Bible haters because God’s Word goes completely contrary to their way of believing, thinking and living. These leftists fail to see that they are actually pawns of Satan who is using them to achieve his own objectives in opposition to God.
The behavior and beliefs of those on the left is a direct result of their unrighteousness and being alienated from God. The result of their disbelief and not trusting in God means they rely solely on the limited means of carnal flesh and its human frailties. What they fail to recognize is that they are all under the influence and control of Satan – the god of this world, (2 Corinthians 4:4, quoted below).
Being under Satan’s influence, they accept and believe his lies and thus promote those same lies. They are deceived and cannot recognize truth when they see it, hear it, or confronted by it from those on the right and in the know. The god of this world has blinded them so that they have no spiritual insight to recognize truth. Therefore they are only left with the lying influence of the enemy – Satan.
The unrighteous children of the devil have Satan’s selfish and prideful character and nature in them. As quoted in John 8:44 above, it’s the lusts and desires of the devil that motivate them and govern their thoughts and actions. One key to understanding why these godless people do not, cannot or will not accept truth and facts even when presented to them is because of PRIDE. Pride is the big “I” factor that lusts are based on. We see this in Satan (Lucifer) as described in Isaiah 14:12-14; and again in Ezekiel 28:13-17; and
Job 41:34 – He beholds every high (lofty) thing; He is king over all the children of pride.
Pride and selfishness is the principle character and nature of Satan, and it is the devil’s nature that sinful man has, (whom Jesus calls the children of the devil), from whom mankind needs to be rescued by turning to and accepting Jesus and repenting.
1 John 3:8 - He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Here is the key to understanding spiritual blindness: Pride causes such people to refuse to admit that they are wrong; that their views, ideas and actions are wrong. Pride will not allow them to humble themselves to acknowledge TRUTH.
It takes the Holy Spirit empowering the Word of God – TRUTH, to pierce into the very depths of man’s darkened heart and mind to awaken them.
Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Being “religious” does not make one righteous. There are many who go to church and claim a form of religion but do not have a personal, life changing experience with Jesus as savior and Lord of their life. This is evident in the apostle Paul’s warning given to Timothy.
2 Timothy 3:1-4 – But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
Paul is addressing conditions he foresaw in the last days in the church. The behavior of the world he sees as becoming common in those in church. How can I say this? It is explained in the very next verse, and then Paul describes why.
2 Timothy 3:5-7 – having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Where do you see a form of godliness? ….in the world? …. on TV? …in our government? NO! You see a “form” of godliness in CHURCH! Paul is describing a condition he sees coming about in those who claim to be church going or professing Christians. The power they deny is the power of Christ and repentance that changes lives. These are what we call the apostate Christians, they do not walk in or exhibit the righteousness of Christ that He gives.
They continue in UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. Why? ….because they want to gratify the lusts of the flesh and their selfish pride-full ways. Those laden with sins, led away with divers lusts. These are just like the unrighteous leftists and liberals who are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. Therefore we see that sinful life and self-indulgence, the pursuit of self-gratification of carnal lusts, or UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, prohibits people from coming to the knowledge of truth.
Speaking of His Holy Spirit, Jesus said in John 16:8-11 – And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
Even then they must choose to accept or reject. Obviously the hardened sinner has hardened his inner being to reject truth. So what it amounts to is that some may accept truth, and some will not. Nevertheless, it is expedient that we continue to speak God’s Word and reveal TRUTH to whomever we can and ask the Holy Spirit to make that truth come alive (quickened) to those we speak it to.
John 6:63 – It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Now let’s go to the Bible and examine the scriptures that God gave regarding this blindness that keeps the unrighteous and unbelievers in bondage of deception. The Wycliffe Bible Encyclopedia describes this blindness as: “The paralysis of spiritual perception which comes on the mind and heart of one who trifles with or rejects God’s gracious offer of salvation. This is a subject which occupies an important place in both the Old Testament and New Testament.”
2 Corinthians 4:4 – whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Again, quoting from Wycliffe Bible Encyclopedia: “In 2 Corinthians 4:4 Paul shows Satan’s part in this blindness. He is the promoter of the superficiality, self-righteousness, and self-seeking that lead to unbelief and spiritual blindness. In this aspect the blindness is not restricted to the Jew but comes on everyone who rejects the offer of God’s grace,
Ephesians 4:18 – This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
Matthew 15:14 – Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.
2 Peter 1:8-9 – in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness
Those who harden their heart against God and His Word choose to identify themselves as the unrighteous. As a result they align themselves with Satan and unwittingly adopt his ideas, goals and agenda to work against God, and His people. Such people work to promote ungodliness, unrighteousness and the destruction of Christian/Jewish values and principles as laid out in the Bible along with those who hold to such values.
Now for a simple overview of where all this is going to lead to; to put it simply – CHAOS; an attempt to bring down individual freedom and western style capitalism and replace it with a new world order under the terms and conditions set by the enemy – a godless, socialist, Marxist, communist system of repressive global government with an imposed, man controlled religion; actually controlled by the Beast of Revelation - Satan.
What does chaos do; it destroys; it brings down legitimate and proper structure of society. This is the purpose and goal of Satan as Jesus said in John 10:10 – “The thief cometh not but for to kill, steal and destroy…”. Interestingly enough, Satan is using various sources to accomplish this goal. He is using a political force in the form of the radical leftist and Marxist ideology along with, and at times in concert with, radical religious ideology. Obviously the radical religious ideology is Islam and its Jihad. Both entities have the goal of domination and subjugation of mankind under its control. Both entities hate God, Christians and Jews. Both entities have the same leader – Satan.
Events in early 2011 in the mid-east are a major step in Satan’s plan. Watch as more uprisings are staged in middle-eastern countries in an effort to topple existing governments – even in America. The goal is to establish strict Islamic states under Sharia law and then uniting them together in a caliphate to destroy Israel, America and true freedom. The Marxists leftist have the same goal so they endorse and promote the revolutions of the Islam, but they fail to recognize that eventually they too will be opposed by Jihad.
The Bible does describe in the Book of Revelation what could be a product of the leftist, Marxist, Socialist, and Islamist goal of a global governing entity that may fit one form of what is called BABYLON. Babylon appears to comprise several different forms: a financial entity, a commercial/business entity, a religious entity, a governing entity, a political entity and a principal city or location where one or more of these entities operate out of. Not all of Babylon is the result of the leftist agenda but is merely a part of the whole. Satan, the Beast of Revelation, is the master conspirator working with many factions to bring it all together under the banner of Babylon. This is patterned after the ancient Babylon under the rule of Nimrod as described in the Book of Genesis.
The Bible also speaks of the nations that will become Islamic strongholds because they are the enemy of God’s people and His land of Israel, and seek destruction of same. The Bible describes the effort that this united Islamic front will embark on and how God Himself puts a stop to it. This is recorded as a prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39 where you will see that all the countries that mobilize their armies into one attack force are all Islamic countries. This event cannot happen until those nations are united under the Islamic banner of Jihad. This process has already begun which indicates that we are in the end times.
Our leftist leaders and news media are too blind to see “the writing on the wall”; and they certainly do not have any respect for Bible prophesy; thus they do not see the TRUTH of what is happening. Instead they applaud the supposed effort to have “democracy” in Egypt, and in each succeeding middle-eastern country where the population are being incited into the streets to demonstrate and topple their existing government. These nations will eventually all unite under Jihad, and most likely under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Beware the cry of revolution, regardless of the form it takes or the name it uses. Revolting and violent rebellion is the hallmark of Satan, and it’s the strategy he uses with those under his influence and control. Remember that if a person is not a believer in God through Jesus Christ, then he is still a child of Satan; the devil is his spiritual father. Jesus even said this of the Jews who would not believe in Him:

Those who are children of the devil are blind and cannot see the truth; thus they are deceived by him and actually do his bidding, even while thinking it is their own idea that they are promoting. Heed the words of Jesus, who spoke on behalf of God, His Father:
John 8:31-32 – Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Pray that those who are blind to the truth will have their eyes opened so they can see and receive truth. The first truth they need to see is that man is not god and is separated from the God of life by his sin and carnal nature. They need to see that they must have a personal relationship with God that only comes through His provision in the atoning work of His Son, Jesus the Christ. Then after becoming spiritually alive they will have the capacity to see and know the truth about what is going on in this world and what the real needs of mankind are. Then they will have access to Godly wisdom in how to deal with every situation in life and among mankind rather than relying on worldly wisdom that actually comes from Satan.
James 3:15 & 17 – This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Be careful in who and what you believe – the TRUTH of God and His Word, or the lies of Satan! Truth leads to life abundantly; lies lead to death and destruction – both eternally!
Now, a final warning! The deception and lies that will dominate communication in these last days will be so intense that even Christians can be deceived if they are not solidly in the Word of God – TRUTH. Jesus said that lying signs and wonders would be prominent before His return.
Matthew 24:24-25 – For there shall arise false Christ’s (anointed one’s), and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceived the very elect. Behold, I have told you before.

As a result they align themselves with Satan and unwittingly adopt his ideas, goals and agenda to work against God, and His people. Such people work to promote ungodliness, unrighteousness and the destruction of Christian/Jewish values and principles as laid out in the Bible along with those who hold to such values.
Now for a simple overview of where all this is going to lead to; to put it simply – CHAOS; an attempt to bring down individual freedom and western style capitalism and replace it with a new world order under the terms and conditions set by the enemy – a godless, socialist, Marxist, communist system of repressive global government with an imposed, man controlled religion; actually controlled by the Beast of Revelation - Satan.
What does chaos do; it destroys; it brings down legitimate and proper structure of society. This is the purpose and goal of Satan as Jesus said in John 10:10 – “The thief cometh not but for to kill, steal and destroy…”. Interestingly enough, Satan is using various sources to accomplish this goal. He is using a political force in the form of the radical leftist and Marxist ideology along with, and at times in concert with, radical religious ideology. Obviously the radical religious ideology is Islam and its Jihad. Both entities have the goal of domination and subjugation of mankind under its control. Both entities hate God, Christians and Jews. Both entities have the same leader – Satan.
Events in early 2011 in the mid-east are a major step in Satan’s plan. Watch as more uprisings are staged in middle-eastern countries in an effort to topple existing governments – even in America. The goal is to establish strict Islamic states under Sharia law and then uniting them together in a caliphate to destroy Israel, America and true freedom. The Marxists leftist have the same goal so they endorse and promote the revolutions of the Islam, but they fail to recognize that eventually they too will be opposed by Jihad.
The Bible does describe in the Book of Revelation what could be a product of the leftist, Marxist, Socialist, and Islamist goal of a global governing entity that may fit one form of what is called BABYLON. Babylon appears to comprise several different forms: a financial entity, a commercial/business entity, a religious entity, a governing entity, a political entity and a principal city or location where one or more of these entities operate out of. Not all of Babylon is the result of the leftist agenda but is merely a part of the whole. Satan, the Beast of Revelation, is the master conspirator working with many factions to bring it all together under the banner of Babylon. This is patterned after the ancient Babylon under the rule of Nimrod as described in the Book of Genesis.
The Bible also speaks of the nations that will become Islamic strongholds because they are the enemy of God’s people and His land of Israel, and seek destruction of same. The Bible describes the effort that this united Islamic front will embark on and how God Himself puts a stop to it. This is recorded as a prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39 where you will see that all the countries that mobilize their armies into one attack force are all Islamic countries. This event cannot happen until those nations are united under the Islamic banner of Jihad. This process has already begun which indicates that we are in the end times.
Our leftist leaders and news media are too blind to see “the writing on the wall”; and they certainly do not have any respect for Bible prophesy; thus they do not see the TRUTH of what is happening. Instead they applaud the supposed effort to have “democracy” in Egypt, and in each succeeding middle-eastern country where the population are being incited into the streets to demonstrate and topple their existing government. These nations will eventually all unite under Jihad, and most likely under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Beware the cry of revolution, regardless of the form it takes or the name it uses. Revolting and violent rebellion is the hallmark of Satan, and it’s the strategy he uses with those under his influence and control. Remember that if a person is not a believer in God through Jesus Christ, then he is still a child of Satan; the devil is his spiritual father. Jesus even said this of the Jews who would not believe in Him:
John 8:44 – You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Those who are children of the devil are blind and cannot see the truth; thus they are deceived by him and actually do his bidding, even while thinking it is their own idea that they are promoting. Heed the words of Jesus, who spoke on behalf of God, His Father:
John 8:31-32 – Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Pray that those who are blind to the truth will have their eyes opened so they can see and receive truth. The first truth they need to see is that man is not god and is separated from the God of life by his sin and carnal nature. They need to see that they must have a personal relationship with God that only comes through His provision in the atoning work of His Son, Jesus the Christ. Then after becoming spiritually alive they will have the capacity to see and know the truth about what is going on in this world and what the real needs of mankind are. Then they will have access to Godly wisdom in how to deal with every situation in life and among mankind rather than relying on worldly wisdom that actually comes from Satan.
James 3:15 & 17 – This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Be careful in who and what you believe – the TRUTH of God and His Word, or the lies of Satan! Truth leads to life abundantly; lies lead to death and destruction – both eternally!
Now, a final warning! The deception and lies that will dominate communication in these last days will be so intense that even Christians can be deceived if they are not solidly in the Word of God – TRUTH. Jesus said that lying signs and wonders would be prominent before His return.
Matthew 24:24-25 – For there shall arise false Christ’s (anointed one’s), and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceived the very elect. Behold, I have told you before.
