THE CHASTENING OF THE LORD IS COMING TO AMERICA

Hebrews 12:6-7 – for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

          The average American fails to realize that God loves this nation which has been demonstrated by His great blessing upon us.  However, America as a nation, and nearly all of its man-made institutions, have turned away from God, from Jesus Christ, and from His Word.  These institutions of man consist of government, corporations, the financial systems, news media, entertainment, education and even much of the church, all of which has perused their own selfish desires and rejected God’s ways of truth and righteousness.  Thus, chastisement is coming upon America!  Yes, including the church!

1 Peter 4:17 – For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 

          What is chastening and chastisement?  It is a judgment of God in the form of corporal PUNISHMENT for errant behavior and activity.  By “corporal” means a physical affliction and pain that drives a people to their knees.  The purpose of such punishment is to reward errant behavior for wrong doing.  Chastening is the opposite of blessing that is for rewarding good and moral behavior.

          America is about to enter a time of calamity and affliction that cannot be altered without a genuine REPENTANCE to God for our moral corruption and rejection of Him.  Repentance means a complete turnaround in morals and behavior by putting off that which offends almighty God and His Holiness.  America has a motto, “In God We Trust” which even appears on our currency.  However, it is our currency that has become our god, and is now in what we have come to put our trust in.

          God made provision through Jesus Christ for us to be forgiven, but that only comes if we acknowledge our sins and His atonement for our sins.  God’s grace is His provision that is freely offered to us.  That grace provision is received by faith and our obedience to Him in what He offered and provided.  Rejection of His offer denies us of the blessings that He has provided.

          Repentance and asking genuine forgiveness is required in order to stay the coming chastisement.  However, having seen our national behavior in nearly every institution of man for several decades, I see this nation being brought to its knees before God; at least until we acknowledge our sin and return to honor Him, His Word, and Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  

          Our founding fathers dedicated this nation to God upon its founding; (much to the denial of our modern government and educational leadership).  Most of our current leadership has rejected God, Jesus Christ, and His Word.  This was openly, and publicly, done in 2008 at the Democrat National Convention when God was removed from their party platform.  And it appears that many of the Republicans have joined suit.  Since that time we have seen our nation deteriorate dramatically, and it will continue to do so until we are brought to our knees and cry out to Him in repentance for redemption.

          During this coming time of national affliction will also be a time when the Lord’s true and pure servants, prophets and preachers, will be raised up to declare His truth and the call to repentance.  They will be hated and despised for this, but their testimony will be very powerful and influential to those who respond; and the power of God will be with them, and upon them, to carry out their ministry.  The Lord has been preparing these servants for many years for this vary particular work, even though they have been held back and isolated for this end-time work.

Hebrews 12:11-13 – Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.  Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;  and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. 

          Why will America suffer this coming affliction?  Because of God’s love and care to bring us back to Him.  This will be a time of great shaking: every man-made institution will be shaken.

Hebrews 12:25-27 – See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:  whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

          There are biblical lessons that America has ignored, and these are: God is not mocked; and the law of sowing and reaping.

Galatians 6:7-8 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 

          America has been sowing to the flesh with intensity for several decades, and it has become much worse recently with all the “wokism, transgenderism and LGBQ++”.  It is all about to come down upon this nation, as well as other nations also. 

          So what form of chastisement could we expect to come upon America and other formerly “Christian” western nations?  Consider what God used to chasten ancient Israel as possible indicators: pestilence, disease, natural disasters, financial collapse, governmental collapse and over-throw, foreign invasion, (which is occurring now in America and Europe), and war in which the nation losses the right to govern itself and is taken over by its adversary.    

          Almighty God will also do it again for modern Israel. He did the same for ancient Israel as recorded in the Bible.  God’s Word WILL BE FULFILLED, just as promised!  Scripture records what occurred to ancient Israel due to their turning away from God.  These things are written for our admonishment and to keep us from experiencing similar troubles.  But we haven’t heeded the warnings.

1 Corinthians 10:11 –  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

          So don’t be surprised when the shaking begins and becomes more intense; it is God’s chastening to bring us to repentance and return to Him – because He loves us.

John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
