SURVEILLANCE: YOU ARE BEING WATCHED
By W. G. Guy
Surveillance is defined as: to watch; to keep watch over someone, especially as a suspect.
Currently there is a lot of national news about surveillance that has been going on by our government over various persons or groups by the CIA , NSA and FBI, etc. Basically it identifies that there are several governmental, and non-governmental agencies that are watching and keeping tabs on the American people for various, and often nefarious, reasons. The purpose of surveillance is to obtain information and data on those being surveilled.
When I was in law enforcement I found that surveillance was a valuable tool in doing investigations as I gained significant information that I would not otherwise have access to for prosecuting my cases.
It is now assumed that government agencies have an abundance of information on nearly all American citizens through their various means and sources of surveillance. What all this information will be used for can only be speculated on at this time, but the implications are not good.
However, there is another means and source of surveillance that most people are not cognizant of, and a permanent record of data is being recorded on each and every one of us. That record will eventually be made available for all to see for which judgment will be levied against each one of us. Actually everything you do, say or even think is being documented in this permanent record.
What is the purpose of this other surveillance? It is all about ACCOUNTABILITY! Every one of us will have to give an account of our lives, actions, behavior, deeds, words spoken and thoughts imagined before almighty God! It is He that is doing the ultimate surveillance and keeping record of your life and will play it all back to you at the time of judgment.
2 Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
There are two judgments, one for those who are true Christians, born-again by the blood of Jesus through faith in Him. This is known as the judgment seat of Christ where He judges His own.
Romans 14:10-13 – But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
The other judgment is called the Great White Throne judgment which is for those who are not in Christ, those that are made the righteous sons of God. This is where the unrighteous or unrepentant sinners are judged.
Revelation 20:11-12 – And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Scripture reveals that God knows all and sees all and that a record is being made of all you do.
Malachi 3:16 – Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.
Matthew 12:36-37 – But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Psalm 94:11 – The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Psalm 33:21 – Shall not God search this out? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
1 Corinthians 4:5 – Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Therefore it is absolutely necessary for believers to consider how they are living and repent of what is unclean and sinful and walk faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ and follow in His ways forsaking the things of this world and its lusts.
1 Peter 4:17 – For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
So what is it that shall be judged and revealed? – EVERYTHING that is not removed by the blood of Jesus by means of confession of sin and repentance.
Matthew 10:26 – Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
The conclusion of the matter is that there is soon coming a day of accountability.
Hebrews 9:27 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
(Note: everyone dies, but it is what happens after death that people are not thinking about nor have they prepared for.)
How shall we then live the rest of our lives till Jesus comes? By following His commandment to love. Please understand this: love is the foundation of the Kingdom of God which is why love is the great commandment. If you cannot live in a loving way, then you are being disobedient and not qualified to be in the Kingdom of God.
1 John 4:10-15 – Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
2 Peter 3:14 – Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Remember, you are being watched: by God the Father, by Jesus His Son and even by the Holy angels who are assigned to watch over you. And they do not forget what you do unless it is confessed, repented of, and forgiven.
