HOW AWESOME IS GOD’S CARE FOR YOU
By W. G. Guy
Consider how great and mighty is our Heavenly Father who, with and through Jesus Christ, made all of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them.
John 1:3 – All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.
Colossians 3:1-16 – for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
When we look at the starry vastness of the universe and see all of the marvels that He has made, it is so very humbling. Also think about the wonders of this world and all the life forms He made, all of which continues to obey what He initiated for us to enjoy and use. Then consider that in all of the wonders of His creation, His main focus of attention is on mankind; us here on planet Earth.
We know His focus of attention is on us because He made man in His own likeness and image. That means that we are very personal to Him and the object of His full love and attention.
Genesis 1:26-27 – And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
God put all that He is into man when He formed him form the dust of the earth. We need to understand that, the “all that He is”, that He put in man is His own character and nature. This is the full spiritual qualities that He is, and that was fully manifested in the first man that He formed; that is, before sin entered the scene. That image was lost in mankind due to the subterfuge of Satan whose purpose was to destroy the image of God in His newly formed “man”. Then again that full character and nature was placed in His Son, Jesus the Christ, when He became the second man directly from God.
Since that horrific event that occurred in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, the corrupt and rebellious nature of Satan has been propagated in mankind throughout history. However, God’s prime focus of attention has never turned from His own creation that He made in His own image and likeness. Of all that might be of concern to God anywhere else in the universe He has placed behind His loving concern for mankind with the intent to fully restore to man what the enemy sought to destroy. God’s love for mankind is so great that He sovereignly intervened to initiate a plan for full restoration; it’s known as “REDEMPTION”.
John 3:16-18 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Then Jesus, who is the Son and the very image and person of God, gave His life for us so that the life that God gave to man can be fully restored by faith in His personal sacrifice for our sins and fallen corrupt nature. God sent Jesus into this world to destroy the works of the devil, thus redeeming mankind. Jesus endured great pain, suffering and humiliation on the cross for the sole purpose of redeeming mankind from the dreadful and eternal penalty of sin.
1 John 3:8 – He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
John 10:10 – The thief (devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Consider the pain that God the Father endured as He watched His Son suffer the cruelty of the cross to the point that could no longer watch: this caused Jesus to cry out why God turned away and forsaking him. God cannot tolerate sin, especially when Jesus became sin as He took upon Himself the penalty for all of the sins of the entire population of the world.
Matthew 27:46 – And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
After when Jesus was resurrected from the grave He ascended to Heaven and sat down at the right hand of God, His Father. From that exalted position He continually makes intercession for all of us who believe on Him as Savior and Lord. Jesus thus keeps God’s awesome loving care focused on us, His prized creation that He values above all the rest of His creation.
Hebrews 7:24-25 – but this man (Jesus), because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
God, in His all-knowing sovereignty, knew exactly what would transpire upon making man and placing him in charge of the earth, because He knew just how corrupt the devil is and the kind of action he would take against God’s beloved mankind. Therefore God had already prepared a plan even before He formed man – before the foundation of the world. (Note: the word “world” comes from the Greek cosmos, which means social order or population of mankind).
Ephesians 1:3-5 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
1 Peter 1:19-21 – with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
God’s loving care for us is so great that it was planned before He made man and placed him on the earth. God’s loving care for you was established before you, or anyone else were ever born: this includes Adam and Eve. He also freely makes it known for all to understand His great love:
Romans 8:38-39 – For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Consider the blessings and privileges God has provided by His loving care:
Isaiah 26:3 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he (the believer) trusteth in thee.
John 1:12 – But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:31 – What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Matthew 6:31-33 – Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
1 Peter 5:6-7 – Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
You are the focus of God’s love and care; thus there is much to be thankful for, and to praise Him for! Therefore, don’t look at your own situation and circumstances; instead focus your attention on He who has focused His attention on you, and who has provided for you all that you need!
