HAS THE EZEKIEL 38 WAR BEGUN?

The October 7, 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip may be the introduction to the warfare described in Ezekiel 38. Please recognize that all of the forces that are arrayed against Israel listed in Ezekiel 38 are from Islamic countries or provinces whose intent is the elimination of Israel.
Here is a list of the geographic locations of those of Ezekiel 38 who were prophesied to attack Israel according the King James Bible Atlas: Gog – the Russian Province of Georgia; Magog – the Russian Province of Georgia; Meshek – the Russian Province of Georgia; Tubal – northern Turkey; Persia – modern Iran; Ethiopia – modern Sudan; Put – modern Libya; Gomer and Togarmah – modern Turkey.
Note that the Russian Province of Georgia is an Islamic enclave in south eastern Russia located between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. Islamic Georgia has been fighting against Moscow in terrorist activities for more than a decade. Most eschatology preachers claim that Moscow will lead this Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel, but this is a presumption that is likely in error.
Why could this October 7th invasion of Israel be considered as the beginning of the Ezekiel 38 conflict? Consider verse 11-12 of this chapter:
Ezekiel 38:11-12 – and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, to take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
Those of “of unwalled villages”, and “them that are at rest, that dwell safely”, describe perfectly the Israeli residents that live in those numerous farming communities referred to as a Kibbutz. When the Israeli’s returned to their former desolate land they formed these agricultural communities and prospered in goods, produce and cattle. The invasion was for the purpose of, “ to take a spoil, and to take a prey”; thus to kill, take hostages and destroy the community.
Now, as a result, much of the world is on the edge of war that threatens to engulf several nations; not just those of Islam, but also their non-Islamic allies. This also appears to fulfill part of what was written:
Ezekiel 38:9 – Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
The term “many people with thee” likely speaks of their non-Islamic allies. Thus we may be on the cusp of WWIII.
After the October 7 attack on Israel, famed author Jonathan Cahn, gave a message where he identified what Hamas is; and that Hamas is mentioned in scripture. I checked it out and found it in Strong’s Concordance as H2555 spelled chamas, which means “violent man”, and comes from H2554 which means “violence”. For example:
Psalms 140:1-2 & 4 – Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man (chamas); which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. ….Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me form the violent man (chamas): who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
It appears that Hamas has been properly named and is now the initiating force leading to a much larger conflict that may involve far greater forces that will have a significant impact on the world. It is important to understand that these last days, prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, are to be filled with terrible events, warfare and fearful sights.
Many preachers are predicting a great awakening and spiritual revival before Christ returns. However, they may not realize just how such an awakening and turn around may occur. From scripture we see that things are going to get so bad that there will be people that will likely fall to their knees and cry out to God for mercy and help. These are the people that will be ready to repent and receive Christ at the preaching of the gospel. Thus it will be the worst of times, with horrible warfare, yet the best of times, with a great spiritual awakening!
Consider what Jesus said about these last days:
Luke 21:26 – men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:…..
There will be fearful sights and events before the return of Christ; but we who are His need not fear because He is our shield and our fortress. We also need to be prepared, not only to stand in the day of evil and calamity, but to also be ready to proclaim God’s love to those who call out for mercy, Thus we will be able to reveal Christ to them for a testimony as His Spirit is also poured put upon us to be His witnesses.
Joel 2:28-32 – And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke (this is warfare). The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance,as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.
Warfare is coming; not only physical warfare, but spiritual warfare; and we need to be prepared.
Luke 21:34-36 – And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Jesus said His return would be like it was in the days of Noah.
Matthew 24:37 – But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
What were conditions like in the days of Noah? Scripture clearly says that they were full of CORRUPTION and VIOLENCE!
Genesis 6:12-13 – And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
We obviously have vast amounts of corruption and violence today: so we can conclude that we are now in that evil day. Therefore we are instructed to take a stand for truth, righteousness, godliness and holiness using all that God has provided to us.
Ephesians 6:13-18 – Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
So the question is: did the Ezekiel 38 conflict begin on October 7, 2023? We shall soon see!
